Week One: Introduction to module

This module allows us to engage with the practices and characteristics of defined media traditions, choosing typically from still image, interactive, and moving image practices. The emphasis is on exploratory approaches, where traditions, ideas and technologies are subject to creative play, testing, experiment and realisation. During the first meeting, we will look at the 3 Main media pathways that can be explored during this module. I will then choose one area to study for the following 12+ weeks.

The deadline for this module is on 4th of May.

Assessment criteria:

·         The Media Exploration Project will be assessed on the extent to which you have demonstrated:

·         Engagement with the histories of experimental media production in a chosen area

·         Creative and competent exploration of appropriate media technologies and practices

·         Effective communication of ideas through appropriate media

·         Engagement in the planning, documentation and realisation of an experimental media production
